Owner - Fleet Feet - Greenville, SC
Wife and mother of 2 amazing daughters. Began running in 1977 at the age of 13. She has been a member of the Greenville Track Club since 1986. Certified running coach and have coached numerous “Couch to 5k groups” over the past 10 years. Sheila has completed and competed in many different races including track & field, 5k, 10k, ½ marathons and several triathlons. She has worked in the athletic shoe industry since 1981, as a store manager, sales representative, technical representative and business owner. Sheila bought Fleet Feet in 2006 and they moved to the new location in 2016.

Amy is currently working with iSolved, a human capital management software, cloud-based solution for payroll, HR, timekeeping and benefits administration. She is in her 3rdyear of service at Performance HCM, having sold HR outsourcing and payroll services in the Carolinas for four years prior. She has a degree in public relations from the University of Florida and earned a master’s degree in education from Jacksonville University

Nancy is the founder of McCartney Resources, LLC, launching her HR consulting business after more than 15 years’ experience as a human resources leader and consultant. Nancy’s expertise is building HR competencies through organizational development, designing and implementing strategies to reduce liability and provide workplace solutions. With multi industry and multi state experience, services are designed to fit an organization’s culture, whether enhancing programs or designing an effective and impactful infrastructure. Earning her MBA with a focus in finance from the University of South Carolina she is an active member of the HR community, currently serving on the Board of Directors for the Greenville Society of Human Resources (GSHRM) after Chairing the Board and serving as the 2018 GSHRM President. Nancy is a member of the national organization SHRM, holding her HR certification (SHRM-CP) as well as her Professional Human Resources (PHR) certification from HRCI as well as certified in SHRM’s Veterans at Work Program. Principal, Elliot Davis - Greenville, SC
Ira has more than 10 years of experience providing consulting services to physician practices, hospitals, and other healthcare entities, specializing in strategic planning, physician compensation, practice operations, analytics and HIPAA. Ira offers his clients a breadth of technical knowledge and experience. He works regularly with clients in the development of compensation formulas, addressing STARK concerns within compensation formulas, fair market valuations and works with his team to provide clients with compensation calculation services. Ira supports clients with HIPAA compliance services related to HIPAA’s Security Rule in performing security rule assessments and assisting entities with operational implementation of HIPAA’s Privacy and Security Rules.
Prior to joining Elliott Davis in 2006, Ira served as the practice administrator for a multi-physician primary care practice in S.C., where he successfully integrated an electronic health record system in 2001. The practice was named a Better Performing Practice by Medical Group Management Association in both 2000 and 2005 for physician productivity and cost containment. Ira’s current physician practice clients benefit from the insights he brings to bear from his experience as a practice administrator and his unique understanding of the regulatory and operational pressures physician practices face.
Ira has an M.B.A from Clemson University as well as B.S., Financial Management from Clemson University. He is a member of (MGMA) Medical Group Managers Association and on the Board of Directors for The South Carolina Baptist Ministry of Again.
Stakeholder Liaison, Internal Revenue Services - Charlotte, NC
Evette is a Stakeholder Liaison representative for the Internal Revenue Service, Communications & Liaison Division. She currently works very closely with various N.C. & S.C. Federal, State and Local governments as well as industries and business organizations. Her purpose is to educate stakeholders about recent tax law changes, available small business products and services necessary to promote longevity and voluntary compliance. She is the area lead for Small Business Tax Workshops, Disaster Assistance and Small Business Forums.
Evette began her career with the IRS in 1988 as a Cooperative Education student in the Compliance Division. In 1990, she joined the IRS as a Revenue Officer in Columbia, S.C. In 2005, she became a Tax Specialist in Charlotte, N.C. She coordinates and conducts numerous tax seminars and workshops that successfully educated small business owners and industry leaders throughout N.C. and S.C.
Evette graduated from South Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and Office Management in 1990. She embraces every opportunity to educate and communicate with organizations in small business communities throughout the Carolinas..
Community Outreach and Resource Planning specialist, US Dept of Labor – Columbia, SC
Colin Trimble is the USDOL Wage and Hour Division’s Community Outreach and Resource Planning Specialist in the Columbia District Office, which covers all of South Carolina. In this role, Colin builds and maintains relationships with stakeholders in the regulated community and with organizations representing workers affected by the laws enforced by the Wage and Hour Division.
Colin was a Wage and Hour Investigator in Ohio from 2010-2018. Prior to joining USDOL, he was a Peace Corps volunteer and worked in financial services. Colin earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Ohio University in 2007 and a Master of Business Administration degree from John Carroll University in 2014.
Attorney, Nexsen Pruet Law Firm – Greenville, SC
Grant Close is a labor and employment attorney with Nexsen Pruet law firm. Grant has over 12 years of experience representing employers across the state and country with legal compliance related to employees, including wage payment laws, discrimination laws, leave laws, contracts, and personnel policies. Grant also defends employers when employees file lawsuits under these laws. Grant frequently speaks on his areas of law practice and enjoys working closely with clients to find solutions to their employment law needs, preferably before employees take legal action

Carlie is a nine-year veteran with Robert Half where she has spent time both on the Office Support and Accounting side of the business. In her almost decade long tenure, Carlie has worked on almost 800 positions with 277 unique companies here in the Upstate!

Chapter 153 giving back to the community. As you can see in the slideshow above, members of the Upstate SC Chapter of the APA went out to local Greenville County schools and donated their time to teach upstate students about Gross to Net and how to understand their pay checks. Volunteers visited many local schools, including Travelers Rest, Berea, Hillcrest, Mauldin & Lead Academy.
